Winter holidays 2023

The winter holidays of 2023 were an opportunity to gather with Sisters but also to offer activities to the children and young people we work with. We offer you a brief overview of this February 2023 holiday in France.

At the Cours-Saint François de Sales

The Cours Saint François de Sales offered students a “snow class” in Arâches-la-Frasse in Haute-Savoie.
From February 13 to 17, they were able to enjoy various sports activities: cross-country skiing, biathlon, skating, snowshoeing. The days were full!
In the evening, the vigils prepared by our Postulant, Sister Charlotte, brought together the 47 students and their companions.

Mini Hike  to Sézannewith the Spiritual Directory

On February 17, 5 Sisters made a pilgrimage from Plancy to Sézanne. From the native village of Father Brisson to that of our Blessed Mother, their 22 kilometers on foot were offered for vocations.

In a landscape of windy and fresh plains, we walk in silence and in common prayer: meditation, rosary, Rosary of Mercy, Litany of the Sacred Heart, reminders of the presence of God, Angelus… Gradually the sun rises but remains behind the clouds. Providence has placed a hunter’s lodge on our path, and it is there, around 11:30 am, that we take a break for a picnic, reading and rest.  We enjoy the comfort of hot broth and coffee thanks to the small pocket wood stove that we have brought. We arrived quietly at the Foyer Sainte Léonie Aviat for Mass at 5:45 pm.

“Motherhouse Saturday”

On February 18, a “Motherhouse Saturday” brought together Oblates from several communities for a time of formation. Brother Anthony Royon, religious of Saint Vincent de Paul, came to share his experience on the education of children and adolescents. Once again we see how close our two Congregations are by their apostolates and the way we implement them. St. Francis de Sales and his contemporary must rejoice!

At the Louis Brisson Day Camp

At the Louis Brisson Day Camp, children weren’t about to start Lent without dressing up for Mardi Gras! The carnival colored young and old from head to toe. And as the weather was fine, they were able to run, dance, play, have a snack… and even make balloon animals!
The following day, the atmosphere was more reflective in the church of Saint Parres-aux-Tertres, to which many of them followed Sr. Anne-Laetitia for the Mass of Ashes.
