Jubilé-25-Dom-Dupont-OSFS

The Retreat

In early July, the jubilarians and a few Sisters from different countries arrived at the Motherhouse for a retreat before the ceremony on July 26. Seventeen Sisters had the opportunity to be guided during this important time of the year by Dom Philippe Dupont, Abbot Emeritus of Solesmes.

At a rate of two sessions per day, he led them in meditation on the “paradoxes of God” in order to bring them to give thanks for the gift that the Lord had given them by calling them to follow him in religious life. He urged them to “have the same charity as Christ,” to “accept each other as different and love each other as complementary,” and to “remain joyful, in a state of prayer and in a permanent state of service.”
The Sisters on retreat also had the joy of going to Plancy on Sunday afternoon to pray in the room of our blessed Father and in the church where he was baptized.

The ceremony

On the 26th, Bishop Joly presided over the Mass of Thanksgiving, surrounded by 17 priests and deacons. Our Sisters renewed their vows, made 70, 50, and 25 years ago, before a large gathering of Sisters, relatives, friends, and parishioners. Magnificat!

Everyone gathered for refreshments in the garden under a beautiful sun to congratulate our dear jubilarians. In the evening, a joyful meal brought everyone together in a warm atmosphere.
