Jubilés en Equateur

Summer 2024 in Ecuador

20 August 2024

In Ecuador, the last few weeks have been rich in celebrations. In this article, we look back at the great moments experienced by the Communities of this country.

Perpetual Professions and Jubilees

Saturday, July 27 in Rocafuerte – Ecuador, was a day full of graces and blessings. The hearts of our Sisters Rosa Magdalena, Ángela-Magdalena and María-Perpetua, vibrated on the occasion of their jubilee of 50, 60 and 70 years of religious profession. Our Sisters Ángela-Inés and Paulina-Belén gave themselves to God and committed themselves to the Congregation through Perpetual Vows.

The Eucharist was presided  by Monsignor Cristóbal Kudlawiec, Bishop of Daule, in the presence of five Oblate priests of St. Francis de Sales. In his homily, Monsignor Cristóbal referred to Jesus’ calls: “He tells his disciples what to do to follow him in a complete way and, as we know, this requirement did not please everyone. For Jesus proposed to a young man: “Leave your house and come with me.” What did the young man say? “No, it’s too much.” Another also said: “Jesus, I want to follow you, but I have possessions, I have to say goodbye to my parents…” and other obstacles. And the Lord didn’t insist, the Lord didn’t say, “seek, try, think, meditate,” no, the Lord accepted his decision and didn’t insist…

The bishop continued: “Love is as strong as death” and it is actually even stronger, because love goes beyond death. He offers us a direct connection with Jesus, which no one can break, because we truly love the Lord with all our heart, seeking Him alone, thinking of what He wants from me, what His plan is for me; I put my life, my plans in the hands of the Lord because I love Him and I know that He loves me and that I am not going to make a mistake. »

This is the witness that our Jubilee Sisters give to our Sisters who have made their perpetual vows: “My life, my projects, I put them in the hands of the Lord because I love Him and I know that He loves me and that I am not going to make a mistake.
Let us also raise our prayers and thanksgiving to God for the lives of our sisters, so that their lives may be a continual and generous gift to God for the good of those around them.
